When you drive by the Old Fore River Shipyard at the East Entrance is an old Cashman Construction truck. The first few times you drive by your attention goes right to it. Cashman Construction rents space at the shipyard.
We had a great time in such a short period of time. Went to Rita Rudner show at Harrah's Saturday night and thanks to Joela we had dinner on the balcony at Olives at the Bellagio Hotel on Sunday. We had a perfect table to view the fountains. We didn't win at slots but had fun trying.
Our anniversary weekend started great in Vegas. The Flamingo gave us a mini suite on the 27th floor overlooking the strip. The photos are out our window.
Heading to the airport in a couple hours. The photo for today I took yesterday when one could see forever. The Boston skyline is great from Wollaston beach. I am not bringing my laptop with me this weekend. See you Monday.
Today's photo was taken heading west on route 95 this morning. We spent a few hours in Lincoln Rhode Island. We came home with more money than we went in with. A successful day.
Everything changed very quickly today when I got a call from my mother that she wasn't feeling well. Her doctor was on vacation and was told to go to South Shore Hospital's emergency room. Thank goodness after 7 hours and many tests they found that her blood pressure medicine had to be reduced. What a relief.
Went over to Sullivan's at Castle Island tonight. While eating we heard three shot beeps of a ships horn. I left George to see what ship was coming by. It was the Maasdam booting along as if she had a schedule to meet. By the time I got to the harbor she was there. It was nice to see the Maasdam we sailed on her around the Mediterranean on our first European cruise.
We can find this flower every where. It reminds be of fireworks. I changed it to black and white in hopes that someday it will be considered a flower instead of just a brush weed.
Last Friday night a group of us from South Shore Camera club met to take some sunset photos. The sunset wasn't the best but Nancy went up the hill to take some photos and we photographed her.
I don't know what the name is of the trees planted along the blvd. They are perfect for this area of the roadway on the way to Nantasket Beach. The trees have bent with the wind and has a silver glow.
Since I was at the Weir River Estuary all day today I went outside to find today's photo. I didn't have many shots to choose from. It was the wind mill or vegetation. I chose the vegetation that is along the pathways around the Estuary.
Today, I helped the Friend's of the Thomas Crane Library by working with another Friend selling used books to raise funds for the programs the Friend's provide for the Library. At the next table was a woman giving massages for one dollar a minute. She had a lot of business.
I went all the way to Connecticut a few weeks ago to see sunflowers and all I had to do was drive to Scituate. This beautiful sunflower stands all by itself in Trish's yard.
George and I had dinner at Beach Fire today at Nantasket Beach. It is the new restaurant where the Ocean Club was. The view is beautiful being in the Cliff of Atlantic Hill over looking the beach. I was disappointed in the clams they were okay not great. But the view made up for it.
Another busy day. Went to the Paragon Carousel shop to bring some more photographs to sell. Then met up with some Hull Artists to pin on letters to the banner the Hull Light Company hangs across Nantasket Ave to announce the Studio Tour this weekend. As I was leaving the Victorian porch we were working on I saw Jeanne's white bike planter. I had to use it as today's photo.
I had to drop off something at Crown Colony this morning. Coming home I went up Copeland Street and stopped at a park dedicated to the Quarry granite workers in Quincy. I have driven by the park many times but this was the first time I walked through. What a lovely area with the beautiful flowers.
Today was the closing day of Arts Affair at Marina Bay. A good show but I didn't win a ribbon. Maybe next year. Many artists were painting around the entrances.
What a busy day. Started at Marina Bay went to Scituate, had a wonderful lunch with Trish at PJ's, Scituate and ended the day at Hull Yacht Club. Trish brought me to Damon's Point on the North River after lunch. I love the bird houses.
Tonight was the drop off time for Arts Affair at Marina Bay. I checked in the photography. Some people are just amazing photographers. When everything was checked in I found some friends looking at the photography entries. John did show off for me when he saw I was taking his picture.
Had a Hull Artists meeting at the Estuary tonight. After the meeting I went over to the Paragon Carousel. A lot of activity there tonight. They were having a Sock Hop with a wonderful singer. There wasn't enough light to get a good picture of it. The Carousel was just beautiful this evening.
Today I drove up Southern Artery in Quincy by CVS and saw that the work has began on the restoration of the Grist Mill on the banks of the Town River. It was built in 1806 and is the oldest surviving combination grist and saw mill in America. It is wonderful that it can be restored before it completely fell in the river.
Went to Nantasket Beach this morning. A beautiful day. The cutest mother and two red headed sons were in front of us enjoying every moment on the beach.
